Der finnes imidlertid fortsatt begrenset prospektiv dokumentasjon på langtidsresultater. I denne prospektive, ikke-intervensjonelle observasjonsstudien undersøkte Taffo et al. langtidssikkerhet, forekomst av urologiske komplikasjoner og livskvalitet hos voksne som brugte LoFric® hydrofile katetre til RIK. Deltakerne ble fulgt i fem år.
